Spacecraft & The Mothership
Understanding your spacecraft and the Mothership's role in operations.
The Mothership
The colossal hub of Loveco Industries operations, constantly moving through the universe.
Roaming Operations
The Mothership moves through space during each Objective Checkpoint:
- Navigates to strategic locations
- Positions near corrupted systems
- Determines mission deployment zones
- Advances as objectives are completed
Your Deployment Point
All missions launch from the Mothership:
- Pilots deploy from the hangar bay
- Launch within the Mothership's operational zone
- Return after mission completion
- Resupply and repair between missions
Mission Beacon System
How It Works
During each mission, the Mothership deploys a mission beacon:
- Keeps your spacecraft systems active
- Creates the operational boundary
- Maintains communication link
- Powers critical ship functions
Beacon Radius
Critical Rule: Your spacecraft cannot leave the beacon radius.
If you exit the beacon zone:
- Spacecraft is marked as lost
- Mission fails
- Hull damage may occur
- Must return to Mothership
Why This Matters:
- Maintains tactical coordination
- Prevents spacecraft from drifting into deeper corruption
- Ensures pilot safety
- Focuses mission objectives
Range Awareness
- Stay within visual beacon indicators
- Monitor your distance readout
- Beacon radius varies by mission type
- Edge warnings alert you before boundary
Your Spacecraft
Basic Chassis
Every Pilot and TPC receives a basic spacecraft chassis:
- Empty equipment frame
- 6 equipment slots (Engine, Hull, Wings, Reactor, Weapon, System)
- No inherent performance stats
- Free to all players
Critical Understanding:
The chassis is just a frame. Ship Parts determine EVERYTHING:
- Without an Engine: You barely move
- Without a Hull: You die in one hit
- Without Wings: You can't maneuver
- Without a Reactor: You can't fire weapons
- Without Weapons: You can't damage enemies
- Without Systems: You have no defensive abilities
Your spacecraft's performance = The sum of your equipped Ship Parts.
Parts-Based Capabilities
Every aspect of control and combat comes from your loadout:
Movement:
- Engine part = speed and acceleration
- Wing part = turning and dodging
- No engine = slow drift
Combat:
- Weapon parts = your only damage source
- Reactor part = energy for weapons
- System parts = shields and utilities
- No weapons = defenseless
Survival:
- Hull part = your hit points
- System parts = shields and repairs
- Wing part = evasion capabilities
- No hull = instant death
Characteristics:
- Free chassis for all players
- Repairable with Basic Materials
- Must equip Ship Parts to be effective
- Your responsibility to maintain
Spacecraft Maintenance
You are responsible for your craft's condition.
Hull Integrity
- Takes damage during missions
- Reduced effectiveness when damaged
- Complete loss if destroyed
- Must be repaired between missions
Repair System
Using Basic Materials (BMs):
- Gathered during missions
- Used to repair hull damage
- Required for spacecraft upkeep
- Non-mintable items (NMIs)
Repair Process:
- Return to Mothership
- Access repair bay
- Spend required BMs
- Restore hull integrity
Consequences of Poor Maintenance
Neglected spacecraft suffer:
- Reduced maneuverability
- Lower shield capacity
- Weapon efficiency loss
- Risk of mission failure
Upgrading Your Spacecraft
Transform your basic chassis into a powerful machine.
Ship Parts
Attach components to improve performance:
- Engines - Speed and maneuverability
- Hulls - Durability and capacity
- Wings - Handling and stability
- Reactors - Power and efficiency
Equipment Installation
Add offensive and defensive systems:
- Weapon arrays
- Shield generators
- Utility modules
- Special equipment
Operational Workflow
Pre-Mission
- Check spacecraft condition
- Repair damage using BMs
- Review equipment loadout
- Verify beacon range for mission type
During Mission
- Launch from Mothership
- Stay within beacon radius
- Complete objectives
- Monitor hull integrity
- Collect Basic Materials
Post-Mission
- Return to Mothership
- Offload collected materials
- Assess damage
- Perform repairs
- Prepare for next deployment
Strategic Considerations
Resource Management
Balance your Basic Materials between:
- Immediate repairs
- Building reserves
- Risky vs. safe missions
Risk vs. Reward
Damaged spacecraft:
- Higher mission failure risk
- Potential complete loss
- Reduced effectiveness
- But saves BMs short-term
Maintained spacecraft:
- Consistent performance
- Mission success rate
- Requires BM investment
- Long-term reliability
Beacon Discipline
Learn your spacecraft's capabilities:
- Maximum effective range
- Turn radius at edge
- Return time to center
- Emergency maneuvers
Spacecraft Loss
When You Lose Your Craft
If your spacecraft is destroyed or lost:
- Receive new basic chassis
- Lose attached Ship Parts
- Lose installed equipment
- Must rebuild from scratch
Prevention is critical.
Insurance (Future Feature)
Potential future system:
- Protect valuable builds
- Recover lost Ship Parts
- Reduce rebuild costs
- Community-funded pools
Best Practices
Maintenance Schedule
- Repair after every mission with damage
- Don't let damage accumulate
- Keep BM reserves for emergencies
- Prioritize hull integrity
Beacon Awareness
- Always know your distance
- Plan movements within safe zones
- Don't chase objectives near edge
- Return to center when uncertain
Upgrade Path
- Start with essential systems
- Balance offense and defense
- Specialize as you progress
- Match upgrades to playstyle
The Pilot's Creed
"Your spacecraft is your responsibility. Maintain it. Respect the beacon. Return home."
The Mothership provides the platform. You provide the care.
